Well, I did it again. Or rather I didn’t do it.
This marks the third week in a row where I was unable to get a new song finished AND publish my newsletter. It’s a bummer too because I love working on music and I love writing the newsletter. I let myself down and I let my audience down.
I’m trying not to get too down on myself though. It’s OK. I didn’t get it done this week. I will do better next week. And the week after that, and the week after that…
The key is to get the new song done and published by Tuesday. That’s why I named this particular project Tuesday Groove Kabobs. It’s a reminder that Tuesday is the due date for a new song. The song doesn’t need to be good, it just needs to be finished by Tuesday. If I can get it done, the newsletter kind of just falls into place (the new song gets its own dedicated section in the newsletter!).
Things tend to move along for me in a real nice way if I hit that Tuesday deadline. I put a lot of pressure on myself to produce each week. But after I hit that publish button on a new song, I feel a huge release. It’s a remarkable feeling.
I’m going to work on creating a new system for myself to help me meet my creative goals each week. Make things easier for myself. I don’t know what that system looks like right now. But I’m going to try some things and see how it goes.
I got a little off track last few weeks. But the good news is that the next Tuesday is only a few short days away. It’s a whole new opportunity to be better.
I should get to work.
Hamburger night!
