2025 is off to a fast start. My first show of the year is less than a week away. On Sunday January 12th you can catch me at Tim’s Tavern doing a solo set. It’s a part of their new Sunday Night Songwriter Series. Since I’m a songwriter, I will fit right in!
Show starts at 6pm. It’s all ages. It will be great.
My good pals Jeff Grant (Sharkeologist) and Kat Bula are also on the bill. I really can’t wait for this one.
I just got the gig last Friday, which means I had to scramble to get the poster done on Saturday. Here is what I came up with.
This is the first poster I have ever made that uses an illustration that I drew myself as the central element. I’m pretty proud of myself. I have been practicing my drawing skills every day. I feel like things are really coming together. There is no way that I could have drawn this six months ago.
On top of doing the illustration myself, I implemented a new digital inking technique. First scanned the original pencil drawing. Then I “inked” over it using my fancy digital brushes that I got from True Grit Texture Supply.

This is also the first show poster I have seen that depicts a songwriter writing songs. I’m breaking new ground left and right over here!
I’m looking forward to doing more illustration / digital work in the future.
