Not only is “I Say Yeah” my newest song to come to fruition, it is also the third song from my latest album One In A Row.
I wrote it a week ago. It’s about feeling OK with how things are working out, not giving a fuck, and staying positive even when it seems the world is falling apart and were’ all going to be extremely dead soon. Or at least something like that. I haven’t given it much thought until now so I’m trying really hard (and probably failing) to “backwards engineer” the song’s meaning.
Here’s an idea — You should listen to the song and then tell me what you think it’s about. How does that sound? (It sounds great!)
This song features a special banjo performance by Rick (Ding Dong) Weber. He doesn’t think he’s good at the banjo but I think he’s wrong.
Turns out that the banjo is easily the best part of the song.
The second best part of the song is when I sing the phrase “lick my crappy butt” in the bridge.
